Terminator: Salvation

Everyone knows that very few films will ever measure up to the first two Terminator films. The 2nd Terminator (Judgement Day) still ranks as one of the greatest action movies of all time and the 1st Terminator does not rank too far behind. This is an entertaining film which will unfortunately forever be compared to the first 2 films. This film falls short of the first two.

The best portion of this film are the action sequences. The Mad Max like thrilling action sequences are breathtaking. This Terminator film brings back much of the old school special effects using real stuntman (not CGI) to perform very dangerous yet entertaining stunts.

The film suffers from a noticeably bad editing. The sequences do not flow well in many scenes. For example, the scenary between the Blair Williams and the thugs are shown abruptly right after Marcus Wright and Blair developes a romantic chemistry. The scene which a human prisoner is shot by a T-600 is best described as choppy. You will notice more than few sequences in which few hours of filming seemed to have been condensed into few seconds.

The storyline is also very choppy as well. It appears Dr. Serena Kogan's role has been changed many times. That's too bad since I think Serena's role could have been a pivtol and a fascinating one. Perhaps Marcus Wright's original role has been altered more than a few times. The storyline is not entirely coherent.

Moon Bloodgood, who plays Blair Williams, was the most convincing actor. Sam Worthington has proven himself to be a bonifide action star. And Christian Bale has done nothing to derail his action star status.

Perhaps the director McG tried too hard to condense this film into under 2 hours. I think the film would have benefited from another 15-25 minutes and a more consistent storyline.

Lastly, I think this Terminator film does not portray the post Judgement Day human suffering well at all. Where are the starving and wretched human existence? Does John Connor's greatness reside primarily in his knowledge of the Skynet and the Terminators?

The history of the American West does not receive better than that!

As a middle school social studies instructor, I can say that Americana is exposed in its format more attractive here! The game is also superb that players are familiar! Star after star makes us forget whatever role they played on television, and remember their characterization Centennial! This is the greatest compliment to a director casting director and producer!

The distribution is exceptional - especially Conrad, Chamberlain, and that the old Detroit Lion line Alex 'Brumbaugh' Karas! Frankly, after seeing this epic four times, I often wanted to sit through 20 consecutive hours, it really grows on you! I can never forget the "Wendells" whenever I hear "Whispering Hope", and just looking at this last half-hour sequence of flashbacks accompanied by "Guess He prefers to be in Colorado" gives me still flesh hen!

I enjoyed this so epic in fact, that if, in Colorado in 1993, I tried to locate the town of Centennial. I noticed many familiar landmarks, crossed the Platte River, but of course, found no city Centennial - only coffee.

I can only say that if one loves the history and drama of the American West and did not see this column - Robert Conrad travel downstream at the beginning, David Janson reflection back by unattached railroads to conclusion, it has not fully grasped all that Hollywood can contribute to learning about our great country.

review:I have only been seriously anime for a few years. When Toonami started using high-caliber things like the 08th MS team, Gundam Wing, and Outlaw Star slowly I started to get hooked. With all the other Gundam series broadcast I was repelled by the crappy animation and long, long histories. Maybe I am just not enough serious ... Or am I?

As has already been said, other series are not only up to snuff with it. The rich colors and crisp, clear animation are eyecatching. They are really emphasize the greatness of the series. I like how mechas remain faithful to the fact that they are made of metal. In the original Gundam 0079 Mobile Suits "sholder plate armor bent and folded like skin around the joints. And when one of them touched they ALWAYS exploded in the dust. When an enemy is affected Zaku II of this series, you SEE down and burn. It is incredible attention to detail in everything it does.

This series shows good of humanity. In the first installations was Gundam Good Guy / Bad Guy. Federation was good and Zeon ALWAYS ALWAYS was wrong. In the 08th MS Team they show an unbiased view of the One Year War. You feel for both sides of the conflict, because they are shown as humans; Not just soldiers. The same thing when Eladore became drunk and thrown in a prison Zeon. It shows that he is more than a Hovertruck operator. He made mistakes and errors.

The story is also very excellent. The series shows EVERY aspect of the story if you know what happens. It helps you understand the elements that you do not understand only if they showed action sequences. Some series like to do it. The warriors perform jumps gravity-defying, as they slash through the steel, to deflect bullets and distributed laser beams with their swords in a battle that occupies most climate of the last three episodes. The drawn / CG combinations reveal why Samurai 7 cost reported 32,500,000 (about 300000 dollars) per episode, a very high price by Japanese standards.

Hailed as a masterpiece of world cinema, Kurosawa Seven Samurai stressed the shared humanity of the peasants, the samurai, and even bandits; The people and often grotesque in this sci-fi adventure mecha vital link that is missing. Samurai 7 offers many over the head sequence of the battle for viewers who appreciate a mixture of daring and futuristic feudal do. Review:That's what I hate. A very good series with an excellent development, eclipsed by a BULLS *** end. This remake than the original at all levels. The original has left a large open ended without closing and the remake does the same. To add your only given 3 episodes and the first episode is essentially the surviving characters bickering, we complain, and trying not to lose hope.

One year has passed after the battle with the head of Chronos. Guyvers 1 and 3 are presumed dead. Chronos has succeeded in destroying the world's governments. They reshape the world to suit them. Mizuki and others are now fugitives hiding out in a guest house. The entire time that he was trying not to lose hope. They want to believe the Guyvers are still alive. Aptom is also on the loose and a fugitive. It is still feared by Chronos. Ms. Balkis recreates ZX-Tole battle Aptom. Meanwhile Guyver 3 is alive and began a resistance against Chronos. Guyver 1 are still missing.

It is this kind of win these episodes, but not by much. I knew early in the first episode on this DVD he was going in one of two directions. A cheap "a punch-type" battle with the head of Chronos or a cop wide open to end without any real closure. But a slight glimmer of hope. Take a WAG (Wild A55 Guess), where he went.

The first episode is very slow. The next two are about action. Aptom and ZX-Tole are engaged in a battle decent. Guyver 3 finally seems to be fine, but there is absolutely no help at all. Guyver 1 makes its appearance as well. His modernized powers and seems very interesting, but too bad his appearance was very brief.

I really hope there is a sequel to this chapter. A 90 or 120 minutes of film or 4 to 6 episodes. SOMETHING! I do not believe that all those who have followed this series will stomach this purpose. I am serious, a very tough pill to swallow her. It almost makes the whole series is not worth owning.

Review: That's what I grew up with (remastered!) : Robotech & * * Transformers were extremely popular in the mid 80. Really, all that the transformation of robots featured at the time had become a hot commodity, but these 2 properties were easily the best and most popular around 1986.

... This is all I recommend now. That said ...
- Visuals: Imperfect remastering, but I like it. Decent cleaning the grainy image, with much less visual artifacts and aging. The blue colors seem a little too intense at the same time. Some colors are slightly modified. I manually illuminate the screen for better enjoyment. Having watched this time and unremastered, I think I far prefer this new format. But I want someone to remaster this time, because I really think that it is possible to improve the current version.

- Noise: Imperfect 5.1 remastering, but it's bearable. The sound effects can be noisy, LOUD, L-O-U-D-while the votes are sometimes too soft in comparison. Some sound effects have been changed. I still prefer these remastered discs if mainly for the .

- Extras: All the extras of the legacy issues are included here. I too editions of the legacy, but they are too costly to say the least. Most people will want to skip editions of the legacy and go straight to this issue-Protoculture Collection.

There are 3 main Robotech series currently available:

1. Robotech - - The Complete Collection. 6 discs - 36 episodes-no extra charge. This is the cheapest price and quality; That's exactly what aired in the early 80. Image quality is a bit poor but bearable. The sound is not 5.1 as remastered versions. 80 l episode intros style feature scenes from all 3 Robotech canvas. * * I do not recommend you buy this game if you are on a tight budget or excessively you buy this for the children. There is no nudity (unlike the remastered version).

2. Robotech - Macross Saga - The Legacy Collection 1. Released in many series-Cher consider it is exactly the same as above, with additions being somewhat OK extras and improved, attractive packaging. Currently, the ultimate 80s collection, ie all the years 80, defects are: grainy image with visual objects and aging. Although I prefer these editions legacy to all mentioned above, most people will probably feel the "extras" are not worth the extra cost. I do not recommend this to die-hard fans & collectors. There's also no nudity (unlike the remastered version).

3. Robotech - Protoculture Collection. As already mentioned, the whole, I recommend now. Digitally remastered extended editions; French and Spanish 5.1; 14 discs of 85 episodes and 7 disc of extra features. All 3 scenarios are included (Macross, Masters, New Generation). Episode intros were reworked over splicing together of 3 scenarios as in years 80. Each presentation focuses on the series he came now. The only potential drawbacks are the price somewhat expensive, a bit remastering imperfect, and the most extensive brief scenes showing nudity (female to undress and shower scenes). I actually agree with these scenes, but some parents may not want this collection for their children.

Whatever version you choose, I strongly recommend this excellent series, and anyone interested everyone!

review:I was first introduced to this film by my friend seven years ago, and I have ever since fallen in love with Japanese anime. Seven years later, having enjoyed such excellent films as Grave of Fireflies, Spirited Away, Akira and Macross Plus etc., this film, Rurouni Kenshin Tsuiokuhen(as it is known in Japanese), still holds a special place in my heart and will never be replaced by anything.

What makes this film a classic is the degree of perfection the makers were aiming at from every angle. Examine it from a superficial perspective, the drawing for instance, is lush, sensual and very realistic. When falling leaves drop in water you can see the ripples; when blood drops on snow it really sinks into it. Everything is shaped and executed with utmost poetry and beauty, and this is true even for the bloody scenes in the movie. In a fighting scene in which Kenshin kills the girl's fiance, the camerawork strikes me as breathtaking and highly effective, it really gives the action speed and momentum and makes it sparkle with fire.

Samurai Champloo / CompleteBox Set

Jin is the epitome of the stoic samurai, lightning-quick, cool and always in control. And Fuu? She's an adorable (and somewhat airheaded) girl who manages to rein these two in to help her search for a mysterious "samurai who smells of sunflowers." Hopefully, she can keep them from killing each other and stay out of trouble along the way...Now own the entire journey of Mugen, Jin and Fuu in one complete set!

review:solid.Absolutely great show. No typical contrived anime fantasy garbage here. Most of the series is grounded in fact and history, with just a little room for fancy and fiction to jazz things up. Despite the rating, I would not call this very kid friendly. Remember Cartoon Network does censor and edit its Adult Swim content. There is a lot of stuff that got the cut. Otherwise very solid, very fun. I would have liked to see some bonus/behind the scenes/concept art etc, but I'll take the set as is.

I saw the subtitled version of the movie at one of the recent anime cons. It was excellent! Animation is still stunning and the story piks up right where the last movie ended. The cliffhanger ending of the last film was confusing due to so many unanswered questions. But Revelation answered most of the questions, though still a complicated/sophisticated plot. The middle third actually takes a very dark turn plus it is much more bloody than Prophecy...which was fine by me.
